HR as a Leadership Ally for Diversity & Inclusion

Holiday Inn–Round Rock, 2370 Chisholm Trail, Round Rock, TX 78681

Registration, Networking, Lunch:  11:15 AM – 12 PM

Luncheon presentation 12:00 – 1:00 pm

The world is still very unsettled about diversity and inclusion. There are so many myths surrounding D&I and most are not aware that discrimination is still very much present today. Everyone is complicit in this issue because we have all either denied opportunity or been denied opportunity based on a diversity factor. As HR leaders it is our responsibility to be allies for D&I.

Diversity has become a polite, positive, hopeful feel good mantra that everybody values, but few are translating that into intentional action. As HR leaders and practitioners, let’s not just talk about it. Let’s BE ABOUT IT as allies for Diversity and Inclusion. Using her dynamic leadership experiences and personal passion for such an important and emotional topic, this session promotes audience engagement so that everybody leaves a Leadership Ally for D&I. Attendees will learn how to:

Learning Objectives:

  • Communicate the concept of Ally Leadership and how it helps change the D&I conversation within organizations to encourage actionable change and accomplishment of strategic objectives.
  • Start conversations with key stakeholders to build and promote buy-in for D&I that will successfully affect business elements of your organization, such as demographics, culture, and customers.
  • Manage effective and intentional D&I practices through behavior modeling that influence positive organizational outcomes, including dealing with situations that can seem uncertain, unclear, or chaotic.
